The Indian Railways? East Coast Railway has notably completing a subway construction at a busy railway track between Pendurthi and Kothavalasa line in Andhra Pradesh in less than five hours, setting a record. The level crossing number 484 between this line was a manned level crossing until now.

As reported, the Railways used a workforce of about 300 to complete the task in about four-and-a-half hours. Further, 16 heavy duty (HD) excavators, three HD cranes, five tippers, 1,000 sandbags, four hydra machines and heavyweight jacks were used.
