Italy posts 25% growth in CE sales

Italian construction equipment (CE) market saw a sales of 6,389 units in the first six months of 2018, with a growth of 25 per cent compared to last year. According to  Unacea, total earthmoving machines sold were 6,157, while road machines 232.

The export of construction equipment between January and April 2018 reached ?973 million, up by 14 per cent compared with the previous year. According to the Monitor of Foreign Trade of the Samoter Outlook, exports of all segments of the sector are growing. In particular, the export of earthmoving machines (+19 per cent), road equipment (+18 per cent), tower cranes (+15 per cent), drilling equipment (11 per cent) and concrete equipment (7 per cent). Imports, which amounted to ?300 million, grew by 22 per cent, as well as the surplus of the trade balance (?650 million), up by 10 per cent.
