Tamil Nadu to face power deficit after three years

Tamil Nadu ended the year with a deficit of 167 million units as opposed to the CEA report in 2017-2018 that stated the state will have a power surplus to the extent of 8,663 million units. In the past two years, the power demand in Tamil Nadu was quite static as there were lower demands from the industries. However, this year, there has been a high demand from the farmers due to better availability of water and the demand from the consumers has also increased, especially during summer due to the usage of air conditioners.
