The Maharashtra Government has plans to complete the construction of 30,000 km of rural roads by June 2019. At an estimated Rs 492.5 billion, the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Mahamarg (also known as the Super Communication Expressway) is expected to be 700-km-long and will pass through 392 villages, spread across 11 districts. The project is expected to be completed in four years. Besides, work on the 22-km-long Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), said to be the longest sea bridge in the country, already commenced.
