India surges 23 ranks in ease of doing business

Taking a huge leap of 23 ranks, India has bagged the 77th position in 2018-19 from 100 in 2017-18, according to the World Bank report 2019 on Ease of Doing Business. Trading across borders has played a vital role in contributing to this position. Also, the Ministry of Shipping has been taking initiatives to improve the parameter of trading across the border, as 92 per cent of India's export and import trade volume is handled at ports.
