Here's what Dalmia, ACC and Ramco Cements are innovating for blended cement

Companies that opt to buy blends must choose from different kinds of blends and decide on the extent of the blend. 'Consider the design parameters and the expected performance of the product vis-a-vis usage requirements when selecting a cement blend,' explains <span style="font-weight: bold;">Manoj Rastogi, Senior Vice President, Concrete Products Division, Sobha.</span> 'The outcome achieved is measured for its durability and the performance of the material vis-a-vis standalone fly-ash. Our objective is to achieve a good product at minimal cost.' <p></p> <p>Nano Concrete, a new product from INSWAREB, can be made on site with a roller blender by anyone who obtains the mix details from the developer.</p> <p>Essentially, cement can be blended on site. However, this necessitates 'a facility to evaluate the quality of the blending materials to control the quality of the mix,' cautions <span style="font-weight: bold;">Anil Kumar Pillai, Senior Deputy General Manager, Technical Services, The Ramco Cements</span>, pointing out that 'buying blended cement can be easier and safer'.</p> <p>Dalmia Cement (Bharat) offers binary blends such as Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC) and Portland Slag Cement (PSC) and the latest ternary blend (composite cement) with the benefits of both, lime rich slag and silica rich fly-ash. PPC, PSC and Pozzolona Composite Cement (PCC) perform exceptionally well in moderate exposure conditions and have 30-40 per cent lower carbon footprint than conventional cements.
