AAI to expand Surat Airport

In order to accommodate the increasing passenger traffic and to facilitate smooth operations of airlines at Surat Airport, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has invited tender applications. With an estimated cost of Rs 1.57 bn, AAI plans to expand the airport from 3,600 sq m to 5,746 sq m. The project is targetted to be completed by 2020. Besides, AAI has earmarked Rs 2.5 bn for the development of Surat Airport and expanding international operations.
