Rs.5 bn for rail coach factory in Latur

An investment of Rs 5 bn has been set aside for the proposed rail coach factory in Latur, which is said to be a total game-changer for the state. The progress of work on the Marathwada coach factory, Latur and Pune Metro projects have also been discussed. With 44 suburban trains running between Pune and Lonavala, a new diesel multiple unit has been reportedly introduced at Daund. At present, Pune has 250 trains including 50 freight trains.
