Rishikesh-Karnprayag to get 12 railway stations

12 new railway stations on the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail route will be developed by the Uttarakhand Government. The route will reportedly encourage tourism and boost the local economy. Also, the Rail Vikas Nigam will be constructing the railway stations on separate themes to showcase the state?s culture. At a cost of Rs 162.16 bn, the government aims to complete the work on the Virbhadra-New Rishikesh line by 2019-20, Rishikesh-Devprayag line by 2023-24 and Devprayag-Karnprayag railway line by 2024-25.
