Navi Mumbai Airport to be ready by 2020

A runway and a terminal building of the Navi Mumbai Airport is expected to be completed by 2019. Although the airport was in the offing for more than a decade as it faced local resistance in terms of rehabilitation and resettlement, it was finally awarded to GVK Power & Infrastructure for development and operations in October 2017. The airport is said to handle a passenger capacity of 60 mn per annum.
