Amazon to invest in Balyo self-driving forklifts

In order to cut costs and speed up deliveries, Amazon has agreed to a seven-year deal with the French robotic solution firm Balyo. As per the agreement, Balyo will supply Amazon with self-driving forklift trucks in the next seven years. According to the terms of the deal, Amazon will receive free stock warrants representing up to 29 per cent of Balyo?s capital, which it can exercise depending on orders of the company?s products. Amazon is currently using robots developed by Kiva Systems, a company it bought in 2012.
