We will focus on material handling in ports in 2019

This bauma India, SDLG launched the new wheel loader L958F with a larger bucket and improved fuel efficiency and delivers higher productivity compared to the earlier version. Surat Mehta, Business Head-India, shares more...

One pathbreaking offering: We get the best of the components, power train, the axle, transmission and the engine. We always try to innovate and improve the engine and hydraulic compatibility so that we can deliver more hydraulic power with lower fuel consumption.

Demand drivers in 2019: Primarily roads remain the growth driver. In 2019, we are going to focus also on material handling in ports. We foresee that in 2019, material handling requirement will be high and with our specialised products we would be able to serve the customer base.

Announcement contributing to the company's growth in 2018: The major decision was having three product offerings: L933, L936and L946 in 3-4T wheel loader space. So we were in position to offer solutions exactly as per the requirement of the customer.

Challenge for the company in 2019: We are keeping a close watch on the macroeconomics but we are not worried about 2019. Beyond that, the new government and then next emission norms set for 2020 would be extremely critical.

Key strategy to success in 2019: We try to keep ahead of times. We are the first one to introduce the 4 ton loader and two models in motor graders, a 12 ton and 15 ton. The new products we plan to introduce, maybe in 2019, would be again something which our customer base specifically requires.

Recommendation for the construction equipment market growth: We are driven by the infrastructure growth in the country which I feel is irreversible. There may be a slight slowdown initially but then this growth story cannot stop, at least for the next 10 years.
