Epiroc opens new facility in Udaipur

Epiroc, a Swedish manufacturer of equipment for the mining, infrastructure and natural resources industries, inaugurated a new Distribution, Refurbishment and Training Centre at Udaipur, Rajasthan.

The new facility located in Amberi Bridge area of Udaipur, was inaugurated by Sami Niiranen, President Underground Rock Excavation and Sunil Duggal, CEO, Hindustan Zinc, one of the most prestigious customers of Epiroc India, headquartered in Udaipur. Jerry Andersson, Managing Director, Epiroc Mining India and other dignitaries of Epiroc and Hindustan Zinc were present at this occasion.

Andersson said, ?This centre totals an area of 42,500 sq ft with integrated distribution supplies, training and refurbishment centre. Today, we open not only a new Distribution Centre but also a way to increase efficiency. We have already rerouted the inflow of imported parts, reducing the lead-time substantially. From here, we can supply to each site daily and efficiently handle the urgent breakdowns.?

The distribution centre promises easy availability of genuine parts and services for Epiroc?s machines, which are highly productive, energy efficient and safe. This centre houses our parts and our rock drilling tools that are required in business operations. Our experts will also be available for enhanced technical expertise of our machines.

The centre has a well-equipped training centre to train operators and people in managing and handling our wide range of technically advanced mining and construction equipment. The facility also houses a refurbishment centre, which would facilitate repairing of large sub-components to extract maximum life as well bring down the running cost.

iiranen said, ?This facility gives us an opportunity to serve Hindustan Zinc?s operations better. We will use it to the full extent as on now. Located strategically it gets us even closer to our customer serving them better. This facilitates Epiroc to live with their customer-centric philosophy and would cater to the requirement of HZL with enhanced agility and focus.?

Duggal mentioned in his speech that a facility like this is very rare in India and this is like a dream come true. This partnership with Epiroc is for decades and that we have travelled a long distance together and hope to continue to be stronger going forward.

Epiroc Mining India has state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in Nashik and Hyderabad, a world-class engineering centre in Bengaluru, and sales and regional offices across India. The company?s channel partner network is supported by a highly committed and enthusiastic team.
