Govt to commission 68 road projects in three months

The Central Government is planning to commission 68 road construction projects worth Rs 5 trillion in the next three months. According to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, this move will boost demand for commercial vehicles in the automotive sector, which is severely impacted by slowdown.

Speaking at the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) conclave, the minister said the road projects will generate demand for construction equipment and heavy commercial vehicles.
