BVC Logistics Drafts COVID-19 Preparedness Manual for Post Lockdown Phase
In anticipation of the relaxation of COVID-19 induced nationwide lockdown from May 18, India?s largest secure logistics company, BVC Logistics has released standard operating procedures (SOP)s. The guidelines revolve around safety, for self, at home, in transit, for colleagues at the workplace, and for the community at large.
?BVC Logistics aims to progressively resume operations in a graded manner. The company has offices in the cities mentioned under the green zone like Rajkot, Kochi, Hissur, etc. that will soon resume operations as per the guidelines,? the company said in a statement released on Thursday.
Some of the highlights of the guidelines include the company?s drivers and escorts using personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring contactless delivery and pickup of goods and sanitisation of delivery trucks.
Others include strictly keep 1.5-meter distance while approaching the BVC gate, scanning of body temperature at the reception, use of attendance register to avoid biometric attendance, recording of body temperature on the dashboard, maintenance of social distancing during meeting or opting for virtual meetings, ensuring 1.5 metre distance in the seating arrangements and avoidance of any kind of contact at water points in office.
The company has also taken measures to sanitise the office surfaces and premises with disinfectants.
In a statement, Rajesh Neelakanta, Executive Director & CEO said, ?BVC Logistics has chalked out the guidelines as an action plan that aligns with the national policy and government guidelines for smooth operations. The guidelines highlight the 5s?: social distancing, safety PPE, self-hygiene, self-isolation and self-discipline for everyone to follow. It includes starting from home to going back safely.?
BVC Logistics aims to not have more than 50 per cent workforce in office and employees will be segregated into shifts.
