IRB Infra Emerges as Preferred Bidder for Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway Stretch

India?s largest highway infrastructure developer, IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd has emerged as a preferred bidder for construction of eight lanes of Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway in Gujarat, on the Gandeva-Ena stretch having a length of 27.500 km with the project cost of Rs 17.55 billion.

Commenting on the development, Virendra D Mhaiskar, Chairman & Managing Director, IRB said, ?We are happy to see the company being awarded another section of prestigious Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway in Gujarat. Winning this project once again validates our domain expertise, rich experience and execution capabilities demonstrated over the last two decades.?

The subject project or Package-VII is part of the first phase of the country?s ambitious ?Bharatmala Pariyojana? of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). It is a greenfield project for making the 27.500 km Gandeva-Ena stretch eight-laned on the upcoming Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway. The concession will comprise 730 days for construction and 15 years of operation & maintenance rights thereafter.

Upon the award of this project, IRB?s order book will stand at Rs 137.55 billion.

To recollect, the company is also constructing the 23.740 km stretch between Padra and Vadodara on the same expressway project at a cost outlay of Rs 20.43 billion.
