IIID Bangalore?s Pot Pourri?event at Shaw Contract?s Experience Centre

Shaw Contract, in association with IIID (Institute of Interior Designers) Bangalore Chapter, organised a Pot Pourri event at the Shaw Contract Experience Centre on April 24, 2019, in Bengaluru.

The evening hosted two very successful architects ? Shivani Gaur, Studio Director, Gensler, and Sabina Reddy, Director, M Moser Associates.

The event commenced with a welcome note by the Chairperson Shyamala Prabhu, followed by Shaw Contract overview presentation by Rakesh Lakhra, Regional Vice President, Shaw Contract.

Hon Treasurer Gunjan Das was the MC. She introduced Shivani Gaur, whose work spans from deeply subject oriented spaces to holistically inclusive and experiential driven design solutions. Her well-researched and detailed presentation focussed on retail, commercial and F&B. She took the audience on a step by step journey of the complete process of design ? starting from pitching for the project and all the way to post-execution analysis of the project. The presentation gave an insight into how Gensler focuses on design as an experience and as a process to arrive at the Experience Index or EXI.

Sabina Reddy's professional experience has endowed her with practical knowledge of how to build and manage teams, and meet client expectations for international design standards in the Indian market. She said that engaging with the client, the design team, the construction team and everyone involved is a collaborative process. She added that one has to integrate all the resources behind a single objective ? delivering on the client?s needs. She gave a compelling and crisp presentation that showcased myriad corporate projects. Her focus on innovation and collaboration comes through in all her designs. Ideation, Delegation, Eureka, and Focus were the different points on the graph, which dictate the design stories for different projects.

Post these absorbing presentations a panel discussion was conducted with both speakers discussing the emerging trends in office design. The audience engaged in the discussion with many of them asking insightful questions.
