Maharashtra builds 3.23 lakh homes under Maha Awas Abhiyan
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray told the media that 15 lakh people benefited from the 3.23 lakh homes built last year in November as a part of the state rural development department scheme.At the virtual inauguration of Maha Awas Abhiyan-Rural, CM Thackeray said that the state rural development department has set a target of constructing 8 lakh houses within 100 days, among which 3.23 houses have already been built, and the rest would come up within a month.
He said that the self-help groups in the rural areas also benefited from the scheme, as the material required for construction was procured from the Gharkul Mart, promoted by the SHGs.
The construction work of these houses was started on November 20 of last year, and the beneficiaries include the landless, construction workers, among others, said Thackeray.
