Rajpath Infracon creates record by constructing 39.69 km Road in 24 hrs

Jagdish Kadam, director, Rajpath Infracon Pvt Ltd was the keynote speaker and Ram Nivas Gupta, President, BAI as the Chief Guest of the virtual meet. Ulhas Debadwar, Secretary, PWD, Government of Maharashtra was the Guest of Honour. And Ranjeet More, Past Chairman, BAI, Pune Centre and Past Vice President, BAI was the Convener of the meet.
In the virtual meet Jagdish Kadam took the participants through the planning and execution stages of the Asphalt Road construction.
PWD has given contract to Rajpath Infracon, which had set to construct a 30 km of road in a day. However, the team constructed 39.69 km of roads in a day between 7 am on Sunday (May 30) and 7 am on Monday (May 31) in 24 hours.
The entire project was completed in three shifts and at six locations, fifteen Civil Engineers of PWD, sixty Civil Engineers of Rajpath Infracon, forty seven Supervisors, twenty three Quality Control Engineers, 150 Drivers, 110 labourers etc. were engaged. Some of the major machinery deputed were ? eight modern Hot Mix Batch Plants, seven Sensor Pavers, twelve Vibratory Rollers, six Pneumatic Rollers, 180 Hyas, etc. 6000 cu mtr metal and 1100 MT Asphalt were used. One lane of road was completed using bituminous concrete (BC).
The road was three and a half metres wide and 39.69 kilometres long covering Pusegaon, Jaigaon, Aundh, Gopuj and Mhasurne. The initiative was carried out in compliance with the rules laid down by the central and state governments regarding Covid-19. Also, Rajpath Infracon took care of all precautionary measures.

Jagdish Kadam said, ?Week seek opportunity in adversity. The Covid Situation was a big challenge for us, we had to maintain proper social distancing and the entire team had to go through rapid testing. But for our machinery, lockdown was a boon as they could safely travel in empty roads to the site.?
Ulhas Deebadwar, Secretary, PWD added how the involvement of the staff, family, government officials and the ministries throughout the project helped them a lot and the work was very smooth. There were weather constraints and strict Covid restrictions, but the team was high in confidence.
