Construction work on six lane NH-709B in Delhi to begin in August

From Delhi's Akshardham Mandir to Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the 155 Km corridor will be completed.

Pushta Road, New Usmanpur, Sonia Vihar Extension, Khajuri Khas, West Karawal Nagar, and Bhajanpura will benefit from the highway, which will reduce travel time to Uttar Pradesh districts and improve traffic flow in Northeast Delhi.

The Noida Link Road and Marginal Bund Road (Pushta Road) in Delhi, as well as Baghpat Road in Uttar Pradesh, will be the focal points of the new corridor.

As it connects Delhi to the Uttar Pradesh border and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE), Pushta Road in Northeast Delhi is one of the most congested corridors in the capital. On both sides of the road, there are a large number of unlicensed colonies and slum clusters, resulting in a heavy flow of vehicles and traffic jams for the majority of the day.

The 14.75 km section in Delhi Akshardham-Geeta Colony-Shastri Park-Khajuri Khas-Delhi-UP border includes a 7 km elevated stretch. The total cost of this stretch is Rs 1,375.56 crore.

It will pass through Welcome City, Indrapuri and Ankur Vihar in Uttar Pradesh before arriving at Loni's Pooja Pusta Police Chowki.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) had previously given financial approval for the corridor to relieve congestion in Delhi and Ghaziabad.

There is a provision for 19 km of an elevated section from Akshardham to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) intersection, which would help in reducing land acquisition and segregation of local traffic, according to Union Transport Gadkari in a letter to Tiwari when the project was approved.
