Govt invests Rs 928 cr for Hyderabad-Bijapur highway expansion project

The government has allocated Rs 928 crore for the expansion of the Hyderabad-Bijapur national highway, which has been the scene of several accidents due to its narrowness and numerous dangerous turns.

One of the main concerns of the people of Rangareddy and Vikarabad districts is the expansion of the highway.

Finally, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved Rs 928.41 crore for the expansion of a road from Appa junction on the outskirts of Hyderabad to Manneguda in Vikarabad district, which will stretch for approximately 46.40 kilometres.

Ranjith Reddy, a Member of Parliament, told the media that the road expansion has been brought to the centre numerous times and that the funds have finally been released.

The road expansion will be of tremendous benefit to the people living within the boundaries of the Chevella parliament constituency, he said, adding that the road expansion construction will begin shortly to reduce road accidents.

Hundreds of vehicle accidents led to high demand for road extensions. Travel to Vikarabad, Tandur, Parigi, and Kodangal will be a lot easier now that the route has been expanded.
