Somnath temple railway station in India will be upgraded

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the major upgrade of Gujarat's Somnath railway station.

Somnath railway station is part of the Bhavnagar Division's Western Railway. Somnath is a Hindu pilgrimage site that attracts visitors all year. Somnath Temple in Somnath, Gujarat, is one of Hinduism's holiest pilgrimage sites, and is thought to be the first of Shiva's twelve Jyotirlinga shrines. Tourists and visitors visiting Somnath Temple and the surrounding areas would benefit from the improved train station.

The pre-bid meeting was held on April 22nd, and national and state level developers attended, expressing strong interest in this project. The Developer's questions were also answered by RLDA. The deadline for submitting an e-bid is May 25, 2022.
