SCCL has issued an EPC contract for a 22 MW solar power facility

Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd. has opened domestic bids for a grid-interactive 22 MW (AC) solar power project in Telangana on behalf of state-owned coal miner Singareni Collieries Company Ltd. (SCCL). At SCCL's Ramagundam Opencast–I location, the solar project will be erected on an overburden dump.

The contract covers the solar plant's design, engineering, supply, building, testing, and commissioning. For a period of ten years, the winning contractor will also provide operation and maintenance services.

The PV project's solar cells and modules must be manufactured in India. The cell and module makers must also be listed in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).

All process steps and quality control measures involved in the production of crystalline silicon solar cells and modules – from wafers through final assembly of solar cells into modules – must be conducted at PV manufacturers' facilities in India.
