ACME Solar develops 300 MW solar project for MSEDCL in Rajasthan

Gurugram-based renewable energy company ACME Solar Holding Private Limited told the media that it has developed a 300 MW solar power project for Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL).

The solar project, situated at village Badiseed in the Jodhpur district of Rajasthan, will provide electricity to Maharashtra.

This is the largest single-location project for the firm so far. The company faced two consecutive rounds of the Covid-19 pandemic that brought operations at the locations to a standstill. Costs of nearly all components peaked, and freight improved many folds. The firm could overcome all the shortcomings and commissioned the project in the shortest available period, said Sandeep Kashyap, Chief Operating Officer of ACME Solar.

ACME Solar is in the process of establishing another 1,750 MW solar power projects.

In the past two years, ACME Group has diversified into green hydrogen and green ammonia production. The company has established an integrated solar PV to green hydrogen and green ammonia project in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

ACME has signed a contract with Norway-based Scatec ASA to infuse in its Oman Project with a 50-50 joint venture, to design, develop, build, and operate a large-scale green ammonia unit in Oman.

The first phase of the facility is anticipated to create 100,000 tonnes of green ammonia yearly and will be expanded to 1.2 million tonnes per annum with about 3.5 GW of electrolyser capacity and will be powered by 5.5 GWp of the solar PV plant. The project is situated in the Duqm Special Economic Zone of Oman.
