Ayodhya airport in Lucknow to resemble Ramayan era

The Ayodhya airport will have an ambience that would remind passengers of the Ramayan era, and the airport’s building will correspond to the Ram temple.

The construction work of the Maryada Purshottam Sriram Airport in Ayodhya is on the fast track. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) is responsible for the airport construction work.

As per Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust, the airport’s entrance and terminal will give the feel of the Ramayan era to travellers.

The Uttar Pradesh government desires the Ayodhya airport to become operational by December-end 2023.

PM Narendra Modi appreciated the Ayodhya airport’s model at display at the exhibition hall during the third groundbreaking ceremony in Lucknow.

The Ayodhya railway station will also be redeveloped. The upcoming building of the railway station will also feature Ramayan.

UP civil aviation department had signed a lease agreement to transfer 317.855 acres of land to the AAI for the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya in April.

Overall, 821 acres of land have been identified for this project to be executed in three phases.

According to the state government, in Phase-I, 317.8 acres of land have been given on lease to AAI. It includes the construction of a 2,200 m x 45 m runway and other amenities.

Vishal Infrastructure had secured the bid for construction of the runway, which has started work under the supervision of AAI.

Officials said that Phase-I of the project would be completed by April 2023. This airport project is expected to boost religious tourism.
