Indian Railways developing infrastructure facilities at stations

Indian Railways is expanding its passenger facilities by expediting infrastructure works in all the states.

The Railways is promoting its state-of-the-art technology and digital facilities in its functioning. Madhya Pradesh has also developed the passenger facilities of Indian Railways.

Foot Over Bridges (FOBs), high-level platforms, waiting rooms and covered over sheds at 117, 117, 306 and 270 railway stations, respectively, make it easy for passengers to move from one platform to the another.

Easy movement, access and alight from the coach, comfortable seating for passengers waiting for the train, and platform shelter facilities for the passengers during the rainy season are necessary.

Divyang friendly 275 railway stations have toilets with improved easy access and comfortable travelling for Divyangjan.

Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) counters at 289 railway stations, 134 Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and 109 Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVMs) at 58 railway stations, with easy ticketing facility from counters, with getting tickets quickly and reservations in any class between stations through PRS counters, are also available. These facilities help in saving time for booking tickets.

It provides 416 POS terminals in 196 stations. It has facilitated cashless transactions and purchases at ticket counters and railway stations.

A clean and comfortable retiring room has been provided at 28 stations for the passengers.

In 26 railway stations, baby feeding rooms are available for female passengers, with proper arrangements of private space given to the women for milking the baby.
