Andhra Pradesh CM inaugurates Jindal Waste-to-Energy Plant

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the Jindal Waste-to-Energy Plant in Kondaveedu of Palnadu district by launching a pylon and unveiled the YSR Yantra Seva Scheme.

The project is the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh and will produce 15 MW from 1,200 tonnes of waste as part of solid waste management. The project promoter will get waste from seven urban civic bodies, including Guntur and Vijayawada Municipal Corporations.

He also planted a sapling at the plant. Later he launched a pylon of Jagananna Haritha Nagaralu in Kondaveedu of Palnadu district. Ministers Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Ambati Rambabu, Thaneti Vanita, and senior officials were present at the occasion. The Chief Minister launched YSR Yantra Seva Scheme and unveiled the mega distribution of tractors and combine harvesters at Guntur's Chuttugunta Centre.

The Chief Minister said that 320 combined harvesters and 3,800 tractors are being made public at Rythu Bharosa Centres (RBKs) across Andhra Pradesh. He credited a subsidy of Rs 175 crore into 5,260 farmer group bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) as part of the initiative.

He said that the government is providing a 40% subsidy and providing loans for 50% of the machinery cost, and the left 10% can be paid by the farmers' group.
