Coimbatore-Shirdi first private train flagged under Bharat Gaurav

The country’s first-ever private train between Coimbatore-Shirdi was flagged off today under the Bharat Gaurav scheme of the Indian Railways.

The train left Coimbatore North on Tuesday, 14 June, and has been scheduled to reach Shirdi on Thursday, 16 June. The train is being operated by South Rail Star, a private operator under the Bharat Gaurav scheme. It will halt at Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Yelahanka, Dharmavaram, Mantralayam Road and Wadi before reaching its destination.

After a one-day halt at the proposed destinations, the train will resume its journey from Shirdi’s Sai Nagar and reach Coimbatore North on Saturday at noon.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, the train will cover several historical destinations on the route while giving the passengers an insight into the cultural heritage of India.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the private train includes services and facilities like doctors on board, security and Railway Police Force. Moreover, the registered service provider has renovated the interiors of the coaches, and all the coaches have round-the-clock cleaning staff and a team to provide professional service and a wholesome experience to passengers.
