Tata Power Solar commissions 66 MW EPC project for Vibrant Energy

Tata Power Company told the media that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tata Power Solar Systems, commissioned a 66 megawatts (MW) engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project for Vibrant Energy.

The project will generate 110,029 units of energy yearly. The installation will lead to a decline in carbon emissions of up to 9 lakh tonnes. The project is spread over 191 acres including 1,27,268 solar modules and the project has been achieved within a record nine-month time.

CEO & MD of Tata Power, Dr Praveer Sinha, told the media that the company considers the commissioning of this big EPC project for Vibrant Energy to be a notable achievement since it demonstrates our best-in-class project implementation capabilities.

The Tata group company said that with the commissioning of this project, the firm's total utility-scale solar project portfolio reaches 9.7 GWp.

Vibrant Energy's mission is to lead the change of corporate & industrial (C&I) customers to a more resilient, sustainable, and low-cost energy future. The platform has been providing this mission via its extensive project portfolio of 859 MW Assets Under Management across the country. Vibrant Energy is an indirectly owned portfolio unit of Macquarie's Green Investment Group (GIG) working on a standalone basis.

Tata Power is one of India's biggest integrated power firms and together with its arms and jointly owned entities, has an installed and managed capacity of 13,635 MW. The firm has an existence across the full power value chain - generation, coal & freight, logistic, transmission & distribution, trading, and consumer-facing solar rooftop and electric vehicle charging companies.

Tata Power Company registered a 28% incline in net profit to Rs 503.11 crore on a 15.4% growth in net sales to Rs 11,959.96 crore in Q4 FY22 over Q4 FY21.
