JSW Steel’s crude steel output increases by 31% in May 2022

JSW Steel's crude steel production in May on a standalone basis increased by 31% to 17.89 lakh tonnes.

The crude steel production in May of financial year (FY) 2021 was 13.67 lakh tonnes.

The flagship company of the $22 billion JSW Group said that production of flat-rolled products also grew by 29% to 12.84 lakh tonnes for the month, corresponding to 9.99 lakh tonnes in the same month last financial year (FY).

While the production of long items increased by 25% on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis to 3.86 lakh tonnes for May 2022. The crude steel output in the same month last year was 3.09 lakh tonnes.

Presently, JSW Steel has an installed annual crude steel capacity of 18 million tonnes (mt) in India, which includes 12.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of flat products and 5.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of long products.
