Hamad International Airport won the World’s Best Airport award
At the 2022 World Airport Awards, Hamad International Airport had been awarded the World’s Best Airport for the second year running at Passenger Terminal Exposition Large-scale Public Exhibition (EXPO) in Paris, France.
Other winners to receive the awards include Singapore Changi Airport had won the World’s Best Airport Staff Service and the World’s Best Airport Dining awards. Istanbul Airport won awards for the World’s Best Airport Shopping and the Most Family-Friendly Airport. Tokyo Haneda Airport won awards for the World’s Cleanest Airport, the World’s Best Domestic Airport, the Best Airport in Asia and the Best Airport Passengers with Restricted Mobility (PRM) and Accessible Facilities, and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh won award for the World’s Most Improved Airport.
Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya won the World’s Best Regional Airport award, Copenhagen Airport won the World’s Best Airport Immigration Processing award, and Zurich Airport won the World’s Best Airport Security Processing award.
The World Airport Awards are prestigious awards for the entire airports and aviation industry, voted by passengers in the annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. These awards serve as a benchmark for the airport industry, assessing customer service and facilities in over 550 airports.
The airport surveys and awards are autonomous of any airport control. The results show a close correlation to the number of customers using the airports during 2021.
