Brigade Group to develop 2.1 mn sq ft residential township in Chennai

A Joint Development Agreement (JDA) for the development of around 2.1 million sq ft in Chennai has been signed by the Brigade Group.

The 15 acres of property near the OMR Sholinganallur junction in Perumbakkam would be turned into a large residential township.

Over the next five years, the Chennai residential business of Brigade Group is likely to generate roughly Rs 6,000 Crore in income.

Pavitra Shankar, Executive Director and Head of Residential Business, told the media that they would continue to place a lot of emphasis on South India, and this project is a major component of our plan to increase our footprint in Chennai.

He said in around five years, the project will generate over Rs. 1,500 crores in revenue. Customers' feedback will be favourable, especially from the IT and ITeS sectors, as it is located in the heart of the IT Office belt.

One of Chennai's rapidly developing residential areas, Perumbakkam, has recently seen increased infrastructure development.

Further, the Group is growing its Residential, Commercial, and Retail sectors as part of its consolidation objectives in Chennai.
