SAIL-Bhilai Steel supply boosts high-speed rail project

More than 80,000 tonnes of steel were provided for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail line project by Bhilai Steel Plant, the state-run Steel Authority of India's (SAIL) flagship facility.

The 508 km project, which is expected to be finished in October 2028, would connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad with a high-speed rail track where trains will run at a speed of 320 km/h.

The rail network will pass through Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar in Maharashtra; and Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Kheda, and Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The project is being carried out by the National High Speed Rail Corporation.
