Aurangabad to acquire 1,800 sq m for rail underpass

Aurangabad district administration will be acquiring a total of 1,800 sq m of land for the building of a rail underpass and also the widening of the existing road in Shivajinagar. The land acquisition department has issued a notification for taking control of the land in accordance with the direction of Aurangabad district collector Sunil Chavan. In the latest order, the land acquisition department has called for the requisite paperwork to be completed as soon as possible, citing ongoing public interest litigation (PIL) seeking the building of the desired facilities before the Bombay High Court's Aurangabad bench. Shivajinagar’s manual railway crossing gate gets operated almost 40 to 50 times every day for the passage of express, passenger and goods trains which halt the pedestrian and vehicular movement at the busy point on Beed bypass road. The area witnesses chaotic traffic conditions at both ends of the railway crossing.
