Kobelco introduces the new SK260LC-11 excavator
The machine weighs 60,200 pounds and has a bucket digging force of 42,000 pounds, a swing torque of 63,300 pound-feet, and a drawbar pulling force of 55,600 pounds.
To balance strong performance, economy, and low fuel consumption, the SK260LC-11 offers three work modes: Eco, S, and H. When greater force is required, the heavy-lift and power-boost (with unlimited time use) capabilities can be used, along with an independent travel function that uses separate hydraulic pumps for the attachment and travel, providing steady and smooth operations when lifting big objects. Performance and durability are improved by thick side panels and a larger bucket cylinder pin.
Enhanced Cab
While addressing operator comforts, a spacious cab featuring a a 7-way adjustable heated air suspension seat, ergonomic pilot levers, heat and air conditioning, a large 10-inch colour monitor displaying important information including work mode, maintenance intervals, and fuel consumption, as well as providing a 270-degree view from the machine’s standard three camera system, has been incorporated.
The hydraulic flow-rate modes of the bucket, breaker, nibbler, and rotating grapple, as well as the mode settings for other attachments such as a tilt rotator, are now fully adjustable by the operator via the monitor. The in-cab hydraulic-pressure release function, according to Kobelco, allows work tools or hoses to be changed easily and safely.
FM/AM, AUX, Bluetooth, hands-free telephone radio, smartphone holder, USB charger, and a 12V power outlet are also included.
Maintenance and security
A radiator clean-out screen prevents larger debris from clogging the cooling fins, and a new hydraulic oil filter keeps foreign matter out of the oil tank while it's being serviced.
The heavy-duty Level II overhead top guard is tiltable for easy window cleaning.
For added safety and visibility, seven LED lights are now standard, along with rear swing flashers and rear work lights.
Machine Guidance and Monitoring
Operators can select their preferred 2D or 3D machine guidance system thanks to pre-installed mounting brackets.
Through Kobelco's KOMEXS (Kobelco Monitoring Excavator System) telematics, the machine's operational information, such as hours, fuel consumption, and maintenance status, can be accessed remotely. Owners will have peace of mind with an engine start alarm, e-fence, and current/past location history. According to Kobelco, the SK260LC-11 is just one of many new models coming to the North American market in 2022-2023.
