Tamil Nadu's East Tambaram bypass to finish in two years

Tambaram, the southern access point to the city, frequently has traffic jams due to increased traffic on Grand Southern Trunk (GST) Road and MBI Road. To prevent this, the department began constructing a four- or six-lane bypass road on Tambaram's eastern side in 2011–12.
The 8.8 km project, which branches off on MSI Road at the Rajakilpakkam junction and continues via Agaramthen Road up to Perungalathur, is designed to divert traffic from Madipakkam, Velachery, Thiruvanmiyur, and Adyar away from Tambaram.
