Delhi-RERA calls for real estate projects to be registered

To safeguard the interests of buyers of real estate in the nation's capital, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has been called to register its real estate projects with the regulator. The authority has the right to take action under sections 59 and 61 of the Act against individuals who fail to do so.

The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA), which was approved by Parliament in March 2016, went into effect on May 1 after receiving notification for 69 of its 92 parts. In November 2018, a notification formed the Delhi-RERA (Delhi-RERA), the National Capital Territory of Delhi's real estate regulatory authority. DDA will ultimately be selling flats to consumers even if it is developing projects from its own funds.
