Gujrat govt. Approves project worth 1.18 billion for STP Plants
According to the guidelines set by the Ministry of the Environment, advanced technology-based TP projects are being completed in the municipalities of the state for the purpose of disposing of grey water that has accumulated as a result of the municipalities' sewer networks because such water can be recycled and reused.
The development of cutting-edge STPs for the nine municipalities where domestic waste water was previously disposed of using outdated technology and in treatment oxidation ponds has received preliminary clearance from Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
For the construction of sewage treatment plants using cutting-edge technology in these towns in 2022–2023 as well as for associated ancillary works necessary to make them fully functional, Patel has sanctioned the fund as part of the state's environmental conservation programme.
These nine municipalities include Gadhada STP (6.3 MLD, capacity), Kathlal STP (4.5 MLD capacity), Mahudha STP (4 MLD capacity), Patdi STP (3.4 MLD capacity), Savarkundla STP (13.40 MLD capacity), Bayad STP (5.07 MLD and 0.31 MLD capacity), Siddhapur STP (13.50 MLD capacity), Sojitra STP (2.5 MLD capacity) and Vallabh Vidyanagar STP (21 MLD capacity).
