Phase 1 of Vizhinjam port to be commissioned by September 2023

Adani Ports and SEZ is building a deep-sea water port in Vizhinjam as India's first mega trans-shipment container terminal. All building projects, including the sea wall, are in progress. The first phase of the port will be operational in September 2023. The local populace will be trained for skilled employment, and many new job possibilities will be created. The government has also discussed the subject of agreement infringement with the Adani Group, and the situation is reported to be handled on "excellent terms." According to the agreement between the state government and the Adani Group, the project had to be finished by December 2019 or face a Rs 1.2 million fee each day. The top-tier, future-ready port is the only trans-shipment hub in the Indian subcontinent, closest to the international shipping routes, and is centrally located on the Indian coastline.
