India installed 57,705 MW of solar capacity

According to a recent written reply by Bhagwant Khuba, state minister for new and renewable energy, India had 57,705 megawatts (MW) of solar power plants installed as of June 30, 2022.

Rajasthan had the most solar projects installed (14,454 MW) as of June 30, 2022. Gujrat came in second, with a capacity of 7806 MW, followed by Karnataka with 7,597 MW, Tamil Nadu with 5,691 MW, and Telangana with 4,621 MW.

Khuba responded separately, stating that 123 GW of solar power projects have either been put into operation or are in the planning stages. By December 2022, the government wants to have 100 GW of solar electricity installed nationwide.
