Bharat Forge, Talgo enter JV for manufacturing trains

The proposed collaboration will also focus on setting-up manufacturing, maintenance and life cycle support hub for new generation, energy efficient, lightweight aluminum high-speed railway trains. The announcement of the JV between the two giants comes at a time when the government is focusing on introducing more emi-high speed trains.
The government recently floated a tender for 100 Vande Bharat trains with maximum speed of 200 kmph. According to the tender document, these 100 trains will have articulated bogie, aluminium body and sleeper facilities.
Talgo is a wholly owned subsidiary of Spain-based high-speed passenger train manufacturer Patentes Talgo. The company has more than 75 years’ experience in the design, manufacturing and maintenance of trains.
