Radheshyam Mopalwar appointed as Director General in the CMO

The Shinde-Fadnavis government appointed Radheshyam Mopalwar, an IAS officer of the 1995 batch who retired in February 2018, as the Director General (War Room-Infrastructure Projects) in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) in Mantralaya in an effort to expedite the execution of ongoing and new infrastructure projects without time/cost escalation.

Mopalwar will monitor a number of infrastructure projects, worth more than Rs 100 trillion, that are being launched or proposed by urban and public works departments, as well as various agencies such as the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation, the City and Industrial Development Corporation, and the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

The Mumbai Coastal Road, the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, metro corridors in Mumbai and other cities, the expansion of the Mumbai Pune expressway, the Mumbai Nagpur Samruddhi Marg, the Pune ring road, Thane and Konkan coastal roads, and elevated highways are among these projects.
