Citizens to monitor BMC’s road concretisation work

Following the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) announcement of a Rs 58 billion tender to concretise the city's roads, citizen forums have formed to monitor the day-to-day progress of works in an effort to ensure transparency.

The Mumbai Citizen's Forum (MCF) is a civic organisation formed by the former police commissioner, Sanjay Pandey and has nearly 200 active members. Members of this forum have reportedly stated they intend to deploy volunteers across the city on a regular basis to monitor road works. They will also receive training on technicality before being deployed to the field.
