Nepal to get $15 billion assistance from China

After visiting, Narayan Khadka, Foreign Minister, held wide-ranging talks with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, to further cement bilateral ties, following which China has pledged $15 billion in grant assistance to Nepal to invest in various projects this year in the landlocked Himalayan nation. The two Foreign Ministers reviewed the overall state of Nepal-China relations and agreed to expand cooperation in areas such as trade, connectivity, investment, health, tourism, poverty alleviation, agriculture, disaster management, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made in a variety of bilateral cooperation areas since Wang's official visit to Nepal earlier this year. Wang, who is also a State Councillor, announced that China will give Nepal a $15 billion (800 million RMB) grant to invest in projects chosen by Nepal for 2022.
