Offences will be addressed under Smart City project

After receiving the investigation report on the shortcomings of the Smart City project, carried out by the previous AIADMK administration, KN Nehru, Minister, Municipal Administration, stated that the right action will be taken.

A committee headed by Davidhar, retired IAS officer, was formed to look into any flaws in the work completed as part of the Smart City project in various corporations during a review meeting on the urban development projects in various local bodies in the district held at the Collectorate. After receiving a report on the irregularities in the local bodies, the committee will take the necessary action. The committee is now looking into the anomalies in the administration of Former Minister Velumani.

The second phase of the Hogenekkal drinking water project has been declared by the Chief minister, costing Rs 48 billion. According to the strategy, a thorough project report is currently being written. The work will begin as soon as it is accessible. The development of urban local bodies in the state of Tamil Nadu has received a budget allocation of Rs 10 bn from the Chief Minister. It was the subject of research done in the Collectorate.

Different demands have been expressed in this study by the urban local body representatives. They will be taken into account, and the proper action will be done. According to a law that the Central government introduced in 2014, garbage tax is collected in urban areas.
