Pune: Six town planning scheme see light of day

Officials from the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority announced on Thursday that six town planning schemes would be implemented this fiscal year. According to officials, work on the Mann Mahalunge town planning scheme has already begun.

While work on issuing property cards and new notifications for plots in the flood line area in the Mann-Mahalunge town planning scheme continues, notification for three town planning schemes will be issued in the next three months, followed by the same for the remaining two schemes, according to PMRDA officials.

The details of the five town planning schemes would be submitted to the government after the due process of hearing and appointment of an arbitrator, stated PMRDA officials.The town planning schemes are based on the Ahmedabad town planning model. The town planning schemes have been planned as revenue models for the proposed 128-km ring road of the PMRDA. Altogether 26 town planning schemes are expected along the first stretch of the proposed ring road.
