41% villages of Rajasthan completed Drone mapping of land

According to data from the ministry of Panchayati Raj, 4,582 (40.53%) villages in Rajasthan have had their drone mapping completed as part of the SVAMITVA program of the federal government, which aims to give village household owners who own homes in populated areas a "record of rights."

This was stated by Panchayati Raj Minister Kapil Moreshwar Patil in response to an unstarred question on August 2 in the Lok Sabha. In Rajasthan, there are 11,304 gram panchayats.

“SVAMITVA aims to provide the ‘record of rights’ to village household owners possessing houses in inhabited areas (Abadi) through issuance of legal ownership rights (property cards/title deeds). The sceheme aims to cover 6.62 lakh villages in the country from the financial year 2020-21 to 2024-25,”the reply stated.

“It is being implemented with the collaborative efforts of the ministry of Panchayati raj, Survey of India (SoI), state revenue departments, state panchyati raj departments and National Infromatics Centre (NIC),” it added.

“States need to sign a memorandum of understanding MoU with SoI for implementation of the scheme. So far, 31 states/Union territories have signed MoUs with SoI,” it further stated. “setting up interim targets for the states/ UTs and Survey of India, regular meeting with states/Survey of India for monitoring, four level monitoring system at national, state, district and panchayat, hand holding of states/ Union Territories (UTs) etc. are some of the steps taken by the government for the expedition of the scheme.”
