Mangaluru Airport seeks hike in user development fee

The Adani Airports-owned Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) has requested that the user development fee (UDF) for domestic passengers be increased immediately by Rs 100 to enable development operations.

It has also proposed that the fee be levied on both arriving and departing travellers.

In its most recent tariff filing, the airport proposed charging a UDF of Rs 250 on domestic travellers starting in October and progressively escalating to Rs 725 by March 31, 2026.

The tariff-fixing agency, the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA), is in the process of determining the rate for Mangaluru airport for the period April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2026.

It has proposed a Rs 525 UDF for international passengers, which would be increased to Rs 1,200 by March 2026.
