CEB invites bids for ground-mounted, floating solar projects

Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has requested proposals to build, own, and operate 30 MW of ground-mounted and floating solar projects with capacities ranging from 1 MW to 5 MW in Sri Lanka over a 20-year term. Bids must be submitted by October 27, 2022.

The project must be finished within ten months of the power purchase agreement's signing (PPA). Bidders must post a proposal security deposit of LKR3 million ($8,289)/MW. The selected bidder must submit a performance security deposit of LKR22 million ($60,786) within 30 days of the letter of award.

Within the project’s scope, the project developer will be required to assess the environmental impacts of the proposed solar power projects and obtain all environmental clearances and approvals from the authorities as per Central Environmental Authority guidelines.

The project company should procure land with an extent of 3 acres/MW for solar power projects. For higher capacities, the required land extent should be based on the above ratio.
