PM inaugurates various projects in Kerala

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated several projects, including the Indian Railways and the Kochi Metro, that will improve connectivity in Kerala and are expected to boost tourism and commerce in the state. The prime minister also laid the groundwork for and dedicated to the nation, Rs 45 billion in railway and metro projects in the state.

The prime minister laid the groundwork for the Kochi Metro Phase II project, inaugurated its phase-1A stretch from SN Junction to Vadakkekotta, and dedicated to the nation the Indian Railways' newly electrified section between Kollam and Punalur, which cost Rs 760 million. Kochi Metro Rail Project Phase II Corridor from JLN Stadium Metro Station to Infopark, Kakkanad, covers 11.2 km and has 11 stations and with the inauguration of Phase IA, Kochi Metro would cover at least 27 km with 24 stations, as per reports.
